By the way, this was our Lake Powell photo shoot; pictures courtesy of the one and only Blake Beus. Yeah, he's my brother. And you should totally check him out (well not him....he's happily married) but his photag skillz over at Photo54. I think he's great!

Our sad attempt at a jump picture.....haha, can't even see marie's face: ) Don't worry missy; )

Today I am thankful for.....

Feet that keep me balanced and take me places.

Legs with muscles that hold me up and carry me on.

A heart that beats and pumps within me life.

Lungs that breath and breath and breath and breath....

Eyes that let me see one step to the next.

Ears to hear the notes that move me forward.

A mind that I don't mind listening to; one of my greatest teachers and closest friends.

And mostly......

The reminder that I am much stronger than I think I am.

Finally Day 10!

Day #10- songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped, mad:

Man. This is hard. I've been putting this post off all week because I can't figure out a way to not write this huge overly comprehensive list of songs. If you can't tell, I kinda like music. : ) Regardless, here's my best attempt at not completely overwhelming you with the songs and music that make up my world: )

-Pretty much anything by Life House; especially this one, this one and this one lately.

-Pretty much anything by Goo Goo Dolls, but thanks to Lindsey's 30 day challenge I found
Feel the Silence; one I hadn't heard before.

-Return to Eden- Paul Cardall

-Pretty much anything from Safety Suit, but I love this acoustic version of Someone Like You. (so talented)

-J.wride (check out their facebook page; especially Evergreen and Lifeboat and Let Me Go)

-Transcend-Tamar Kaprelian (sorry...couldn't find the version where the audio isn't off)

-Be Still My Soul (and who better to sing it than David Archaletta.....at church. Who had their camcorder on....tsk, tsk. haha)

-And Journey and The Killers....will always remind me of my Boy; )

And when I'm jammin' out with my girlies...
Something About Love-David Archuleta

Day #7- a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you:It's hard for me to even put into words what Christ means to me. He means everything to me, and I say that not because it's something I've heard all my life, but because it's something I've experienced and felt and come to know myself. I think back on my lifetime of coming to know Him and that process and journey has been so real and meaningful and made all the difference in my life. He's made every pain less painful and every joy inexpressibly more joyful. The more I come to know Him the more my life deepens, my vision expands, my love grows, and my life changes for the better. I love Him and I hope when all is said and done I have become like Him.

Day #8- short term goals for this month and why:
-Give the girls my undivided attention for at least 15 minutes a day each.
-Less movie time for the girls, more constructive play time.
-Family Scripture study during dinner.
-Scripture study with Chad right after we get the girls in bed.
-No desserts and treats during the week.
-Be in bed earlier; preferably 10:30
-Work out at least 4 times a week; Jillian and treadmill and weights
-Start writing in my "God's Hand in my Life" journal frequently.
-Plan a fun date for Chad and I.
-Face a fear.

Day #9- something you're proud of in the past few days:
I actually didn't have a sugary treat Monday through Thursday this whole week! And I know that's really not that big of a deal for some, but seriously for me that's saying something: ) I pretty much crave a treat after every meal. It's nice to show a little self control here and it's not been too bad really. Just for the record, I'm not against treats or sugar, I actually quite adore them. I'm just trying to be a little healthier and thought that was a good place to start. Next is getting my fruits and veggie servings in everyday. ha! Bring on the green smoothies!

Day #6- favorite super hero and why:
Can my super hero actually be a real person? I think yes, since there's no one here to stop me: )
This picture hung on the cinder block wall in the weight room of my high school my Senior year. Dave Draney was an amazing athlete, an Olympian hopeful at one point, and our high school weights teacher. He was one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever meet. And he also had cancer. He worked so hard all his life to make his body strong and healthy and in the end had to have his leg amputated because of the cancer they found in his hip. You'd see him making his way around school with two crutches strapped to his arms and only one leg, but with a huge smile on his face. He taught us young kids a lot about life and about fight and courage and example and love that last year of our high school experience and the last year of his life. He died right before graduation, but he's someone I think about often and someone who inspired me to live life to the fullest, smile, and love with all your heart. He really is one of my superheros.

Here's an awesome newspaper article about Dave that tells more of his story. Trust me, it's something worth reading: )

30 Day Challenge cont.....finally: )

Who's ingenious idea was it to start my 30 day blog challenge right before the holidays! Oh yeah, it was mine. Needless to say, I've been pretty internet absent, but Christmas was a blast and one fun thing after the next. And now it's a NEW YEAR and I am pumped and motivated to blog the year away: )

So, I'm just going to combine a few days to catch up a little here.....

Day #2- the meaning behind your blog name:
In all honesty, there is no real significance or meaning behind my blog name. I can remember sitting next to Chad in the pink recliner at Al's house trying to think of a cool name together....and the creative juices just weren't flowing. So "That's Just Me" was all we got, but I guess it fits: )

Day #3- a picture of you and your friends:
I love this picture. I found it the other day when I was looking for pictures for Chad's memory book I was making him. I wish I could find the picture with all of our high school friends in it, but this one at least has a few of us together. That was a good day: )

Day #4- a habit that you wish you didn’t have:
Hmm....let's see. I'm going to have to go with going to bed so stinkin' late every day of my life! What's the deal? That has got to go!

Day #5- a picture of somewhere you've been to:
Lake Mead with the Onkes Family! That was a trip to be remembered: )

Day One!

Recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself
Em and I at Fall Creek Waterfall this summer....right after this picture
was taken Em and I look over only to find a bat curled up right by our faces: ) Epic.

1. I just discovered this last week while decorating for Chad's birthday that I can no longer blow up balloons without plugging my nose. weird, I know; could barely believe it myself: }

2. I am currently getting over a cookies and cream candy bar fetish.

3. I love my alone time; need it.

4. I love my 'being with people' time too; need it.

5. Running is one of my ways to get feelings out that sometimes I didn't even know I had.

6. Music is my other.

7. Pillow talk with Chad is my absolute favorite time of the day....and secretly I know he enjoys it just as much as I do, though in defending his manliness he has to give me grief: )

8. I never knew I could love anyone so instantly and intensely until I held my baby girls in my arms.

9. The person I talk to the most is God.

10. I used to think you got pregnant by kissing someone. You can only imagine my horror at "kiss tag". Needless to say I ran my guts out during the game, and always looked back and felt bad for the girls that were just too slow.

11. I think my Grandma Marge is the cutest thing since cabbage patch kids and even though I'll miss her so much when she's gone, I'm excited for her to get to move on and be with Grandpa again.

12. I wear these black furry slippers around the house all day, every day.

13. I courtesy laugh waaaay more often than a normal person should in a conversation, like after every sentence.

14. When I'm in an awkward conversation, for some reason I start yawning like that will somehow make things so much better: }

15. About five times a day, a break out in spontaneous pirouhettes (and we're not talking about pretty pirouhettes here) and then I casually look out our huge glass back door to make sure the neighbors weren't watching.

(bonus; because you deserve to see this)
16. I replayed this video about seven times today when I stumbled upon it.
